Những phế phẩm của cây sen tưởng chừng phải bỏ đi, qua bàn tay tài hoa của các bạn trẻ xứ Huế đã mang thêm hương sắc cho đời. Những bức tranh được làm từ lá sen thu hái vào buổi sáng sớm - lúc sen còn đọng sương và có gân lá tươi xanh. Tùy theo lá sen to nhỏ mà tranh có kích cỡ khác nhau. Có 2 cách làm tranh sen: cắt dán lá sen đã được xử lý màu sắc để tạo thành bức tranh hoặc vẽ lên nền tranh đắp bằng lá sen.

Chất liệu, màu sắc tự nhiên, cách thể hiện độc đáo, giá trị thẩm mỹ cao... khiến tranh sen được ưa chuộng.
